A development of the Harrier for the Royal Navy. The FRS.1
Sea Harrier is similar to the RAF's GR.3 except in the area
of the forward fuselage. The cockpit is raised giving more
room for avionics and improved visibility for the pilot. The
FRS.1 nose has an oblique reconnaissance camera and a Blue
Fox radar. The RN's Sea Harriers saw active service in 1982
in the Falklands War where they provided air cover for the
British fleet and ground support for the land operations.
The only export customer for the Sea Harrier is India. The
Indian navy operates FRS.51 from its aircraft carrier/s. These
basically similar to the FRS.1.
