The Russian SAMs page is up today.

News, 20 March 2004
These entries cover all the facilities included in the DB2000 database. The entries are grouped together by class ie SAMs, SSMs, Tanks/Armour, Infantry etc Clicking on the listing will bring up a page detailing the facility as it is implemented in the DB2000 data including all the sensors, mounts, weapons and special flags. This is not a comprehensive reference but a tool for scenario editors.

Aircraft Facilities

These include everything you need to build your airbase includeing hangars, runways, revetments, ammunition dumps and fuel storage.

Anti Aircraft Artillery

All the guns required to provide a curtain of shells around a target. Everything from the ubiquitous 12.7mm 50cal up to 100mm and all points in between.

Artillery

Wether you need them as targets or shoot back at the enemy the DB2000 database provides a comprehensive range of artillery pieces for all scenarios. Ranging from WWII era 75mm and 88mm pieces right up to the massive Gerald Bull Superguns.

Communications

Setting up the communications and command network is an important first set to building any Harpoon 3 scenario. DB2000 database provides command and control bunkers and centres along with relay stations.

General Infrastructure

To create the right feel for a scenario you need more than just military units. Military and civilian infrastructure provides a wealth of targets and clutter to help build the "fog of war" effect.

Ground Units - Foot

Infantry are the basic unit of military power. To truly defeat an enemy you must put your boots on his ground. Without the infantry to support or destroy Harpoon would be pointless. The DB2000 database provides the scenario creator with a wide range of units ranging from entire battalions down to a single agent with pair of binoculars.

Ground Units - Vehicles

Vehicles give ground units mobility and protection and on the modern battlefield are an important player. Scenario writers will find Armoured or Mechanized Infantry batallions, tank and IFV platoons and general vehicle groupings in the DB2000 database. Ideal for creating that target rich environement every war-gammer wants.

Radar and EW Facilities

Detection and tracking of the enemy is the only way kill him on the battlefield. To do this you need the right tools. The DB2000 database provides a wide range of radar and EW sites to allow the creation of listening posts, local defences and even an entire national Integrated Air Defence System (IADS).

Surface to Air Missiles

Any defence system needs to not only be able to see the enemy but also be able to kill him. Surface to Air Missiles are the main ground based weapon for the protection of airspace. When used as part of an integrated system including surveilance assets and fighter aircraft SAMs defences can prove to be a very tough nut to crack the DB2000 database has such a large range of SAMs available that they are broken down into three categories:

Surface to Surface Missile

SSMs come in two main varieties: ballistic missiles and cruise missiles. as the premier Harpoon 3 database DB2000 provides a range of both for inclusion in your scenarios. Whether your planning all out nuclear war or just wanting to do a little scud hunting you'll find what your after.
