Gal Class

Displacement: Surfaced 600t; Submerged 660t.
Dimensions: Length 49m; Beam 5m; Draft 5m.
Armament: 8x (533mm) bow torpedo tubes,

Propulsion: 3x 16V 396 SE 84 diesel engines, 3x 750kW alternators, and a 2.85MW sustained power motor, one shaft, 11kts surfaced, 17kts submerged.
Description: The GAL submarines are small and sophisticated. Their small dimensions make it difficult for detection. These subs went through a series of modernization and modification programs in the late 80's, which would enable effective operation of the subs well into the 21st century. Although the 3 modern Dolphin class submarine have already arrived, the Gals remain on strength with the Israeli Navy into the 2000s

Type 800 Dolphin Class

Displacement: Surfaced 1,718t; Submerged 2,240t.
Dimensions: Length 57m; Beam 6.8m; Draft 6.2m.
Armament: 6x 533mm bow torpedo tubes

Propulsion: 3x 16V 396 SE 84 diesel engines, 3x 750kW alternators, and a 2.85MW sustained power motor, one shaft, 20kts dived, 11kts snorting speed.
Description: Three Type 800 Dolphin class submarines have been built in German shipyards for the Israel Navy. Modern submarines with the most advanced sailing and combat systems in the world, they combine extensive sophistication with very easy operation. The mission of the submarines is to carry out interdiction and surveillance operations and special missions.
